Instead, Lazaretto channels the voices, music and instruments White has mastered as a professor of the rock tradition. Think DeWolff and you're getting close. A beautiful song that allows White to show his softer side without creating a wall of sound to hide behind. The song is blistering with a great slide guitar part tearing air apart over the heavy riffing. White's sophomore solo album builds on his already impressive musical talent. In 2011, Rolling Stone magazine published David Fricke's list of the 100 greatest guitar players of all time. The instrumental 'High ball stepper' creates all the noise the previous ballad was lacking and was the first sound released of Lazaretto. Regardless of how you would rank Jack White against his predecessors and contemporaries, his music and impact on independent rock will stand up to the test of time. His musical abilities on Lazaretto cast light on his beginnings with The White Stripes and the potential for what in the years ahead. Without abandoning his signature guitar sound, Lazaretto celebrates the folk, blues and country sounds of White's recently newfound home of Nashville, Tenn. He is acutely aware that it's all been done before, so borrow and improve on the best. Ahead of the many rock and blues legends that inspired the music of The White Stripes, the trusted prophet of rock and roll listed Jack White at number 17. Lazaretto shows many a face of Jack White.

If that list was redrafted in 2015, White's spot would undoubtedly be closer to the Fricke list. Enough to make me very much interested in the original. It doesn't sound like he's having a great time alone in his home. Listen to 'Dragon fly' by Jefferson Starship and you'll find out just what I mean. You are a great enrichment to the sound of this album. With Lazaretto we have the final answer on that one. Jack White found it for this album alright.
